Vest-Wood A/S was awarded the Danish Logistics Prize 2005
A delivery ability of no less than 98% is one of the reasons for awarding the Danish door manufacturer Vest-Wood A/S the Danish Logistics Prize 2005. The presentation took place in connection with the Danish Logistics Conference, which is arranged by Dansk Rationaliseringsforening (Danish Rationalization Association) and Ingeniørforeningens Logistikselskab i Danmark (the Logistics Association of the Engineers in Denmark) .
Vest-Wood was chosen because of the fact that Vest-Wood has developed a Business Model, in which the logistics is completely integrated with the different functions of the company: product development, purchase, sales, finances, shipping etc.
The logistics concept of Vest-Wood, which supplies DIY centres, timber merchants and construction projects, proves to be highly accurate when it comes to the handling of the product programme of more than 300.000 items. Furthermore it was emphasized in the motivation for choosing Vest-Wood that the logistics concept of the company is very well documented and tested for a number of years.
