JELD-WEN invited to White House Jobs Summit!
Thursday 3 December JELD-WEN is invited to attend President Barack Obama’s “Jobs Summit” at the White House. JELD-WEN will be represented by Executive Vice President Ron Saxton.
The Summit will involve about 130 people from around the USA – primarily business and labor leaders. The objective of the forum is to discuss politics, strategies and methods which will increase the prospects for jobs within the private sector.
One of our main subjects will be that a significant number of the American houses are today provided with single pane windows. To upgrade to energy-saving windows and doors could result in many jobs within the production, distribution and installation areas while we simultaneously are reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.
We are looking forward to a good and positive discussion about the creation of further jobs but we are also hoping that we can ensure that the measurements launched as a result of the summit are for our common good.
As it is the first time JELD-WEN is attending the summit we are not able to predict the result but we are hoping that we can contribute to a deeper understanding of our industry in Washington.
